Team Neumann and Team McLaughlin attend 5-And-Under Nationals
Kevin Neumann, Anna Jensen, Zach Kehres, and Karen Juhl won the Evergreen CC's 5-And-Under Qualifier, which secured them a spot in Nationals. Matt McLaughlin, Suzanne McLaughlin, Sonja Wesche,and Thorsten Frank secured their Nationals slot in the PNWCA 5-And-Under Qualifier, and they've since picked up Will Dimmit as their 5th. Both teams will represent GCC at the USA Curling's 5-And-Under Nationals from April 24-28, 2024 in Chaska, MN.
Three GCC Members head to World Senior Championships
From April 20-27, three Granite Curling Club members will compete in the World Curling Senior National Championships in Östersund, Sweden.
Darren Lehto joined Team Farbelow, the USA Senior National Champions, to represent USA again on the world stage. Chad Johnson was asked to represent the Nigeria Curling Federation. He looks forward to representing his ancestral land as well as promote curling to a group of people who are underrepresented. Peter Garbes is curling with Team Philippines. This marks the historic debut of a Philippine team at a Senior Worlds event. Good curling to all three teams! Learn more about the event and view line scores on WCF's website.
Bonspiel Results: April Spiel - Off to the Races
From April 4-7, we hosted our April Spiel - Off to the Races. Congratulations to our winners!
Champions: And Away They Go from Granite CC and Victoria CC (Ryan Sykes, Madisson Lank, Nick Coleman, Glen Allen)
B Event Winner: Team Picanté from Vancouver CC (Stephan Funk, Randall Noble, Chad Findlay, Barry Trischuk)
C Event Winner: They're Pulling Ahead from Peace Arch CC (Chris Harrison, Simon Potts, Joel Macdonald, John Reeves)
D Event Winner: Tails of WHOA! WHOA! from Granite CC (Liam Barksdale, John Rasmussen, William Rugen, Lisa Rugen)
Team Yalowicki Wins Berth to Mixed Nationals
Cory Yalowicki, Shelby Williams, Jordan Williams, and Aryn Grause won the PNWCA Mixed Playdown hosted by Evergreen Curling Club in January. They are representing the region at USA Curling Mixed Nationals from April 10-14 at Denver Curling Club.
Team Rauliuk takes 4th at Women's Senior Nationals
At the Senior Women's National Championship, Lisa Rauliuk, Lori Markham, Jiyoung Lee, and a curler from the east coast finished the round robin tied for second place with a 5-2 record. They ended the event with a 4th place finish, a strong showing for GCC.
